Eric van Dijsseldonk

Guitarist and singer-songwriter Eric van Dijsseldonk plays rootsy pop songs with Beatlesque melodies and vibrant guitar work. His new album will be released on Zip Records in early 2025.

Van Dijsseldonk was once the frontman of the pop/rock trio Smalltown Romeos before releasing his solo debut, “33 1/3,” twenty years ago. He then followed up with two albums and an EP in Dutch. Today, he’s writing and singing in English again, ultimately returning to the language of pop music he grew up with.

Over the years, Van Dijsseldonk has become a sought-after guitarist and has developed into a true songwriter. His songs often carry a lovely Seventies vibe, revealing both British and American roots. Van Dijsseldonk knows his classics and incorporates all these influences into his catchy pop songs.

Love in all its forms remains a major source of inspiration for him, but various subjects like social media, Charlie Watts, midlife reflections, and even Stephen Hawking also appear in his lyrics. Live, van Dijsseldonk performs new and older original work, complemented by a few covers of his heroes. He is usually accompanied by Stefan Wolfs (guitar, pedal steel) and Erik Harbers (bass).

In recent years, Van Dijsseldonk mainly played guitar for artists like Malford Milligan and Erwin Nyhoff and frequently takes the stage with “And The Band Played On” and the trio Spanjers, Dijsseldonk & Planteijdt. And now, he finally takes his own songs on the road again.
